Accuracy Rules

Initially, the default accuracy for each plan is set by the survey date of that plan as follows:
A parcel assumes the default accuracy of its plan unless it is set otherwise by the user.
Each line in a parcel assumes the accuracy of its parcel unless it is set otherwise by the user.

There are 7 different levels of accuracy which are:
Accuracy Acc No Date Range Angle SD Distance SD
High 1 N/A 5 seconds 1mm plus 5ppm
High to Medium 2 After 1980 30 seconds 10mm plus 25ppm
Medium 3 1908 - 1980 1 minute 20mm plus 50ppm
Medium to Low 4 1881 - 1907 2 minutes 50mm plus 125ppm
Low 5 Before 1881 5 minutes 200mm plus 125ppm
Digitised 6 N/A 1 degree 1 metre plus 5000ppm
Excluded 7 N/A N/A N/A

Each level of accuracy is represented by a particular colour. To view what colours represent what accuracies, see Colour Parcels

Connection Lines
Lines tagged 995, 996, 997, 998 and 999 are treated as connections and are displayed as a dashed line.

995 Lines are "Precise Connections" and are displayed in Red.
"Precise Connections" are used for connecting a boundary point to a control point.
. They have an accuracy one stage higher than their parcel and are entered in the parcel lines after the parcel close.

996 Lines are "Origin Connections" and are displayed in Grey.
"Origin Connections" are used as a connection to the legal "Commencement Point" in a parcel.
"Origin Connections" are entered in the parcel lines before the first boundary line of the parcel.

997 Lines are "Part Connections" and are displayed in Grey.
"Part Connections" are used to connect polygons in multi-part lots. See Multipart Lots
"Part Connections" are entered within the parcel lines.

998 Lines are "Radial Lines" and are displayed in Yellow.
"Radial Lines" are generated from the centre of a curved line and are automatically generated by the software.
For information on entering curved lines in a parcel, see Entry Curved Lines

999 Lines are "General Connections" and are displayed in Grey.
"General Connections" are used for all connection lines not listed above.
"General Connections" are entered in the parcel lines after the parcel close.

Easements
Parcels and lines tagged 901-994 are Easements and are displayed in Blue.
For information on entering easements, see Entering Easements

Roads
Parcels and lines tagged 21-29 are either road parcels or road frontages within a parcel and are displayed in Brown.
If two or more road lines are entered consecutively - the program prompts for an "Across Road Connection" width.
If the width of the road is known, this value is entered and then the program generates an across road connection on the required angle. These connections are added in the parcel lines after the parcel close.
If the width of the road is unknown, then the user simply Cancels this option.

Topology
Each parcel must have a closed loop unless it is flagged as being "Unclosed". See 'Parcel Data' in Parcel Admin Data for information on "Unclosed" parcels.

IMPORTANT:
Connections can NOT be entered within the parcel closed loop, except for "Part Connections".
Easements are entered AFTER the closed part of the parcel and each easement MUST be a closed polygon.
